  • 91 gallon RDS tank swap for a 60 gal.

Im considering going to a 60 gallon tank to accomidate putting a set of stacks in the bed. I ordered the stack but haven't gotten them so i'm not sure how much room they will need. I can get about 6" between the tank and bed if i slide the tank as far back as i can untill they hit the wheel wells but that will make my bed space even less and i'm not thrilled about that.
So, if anyone has a 60 gallon tank and would like to trade for a 91 gallon tank, let me know and we will talk.

Interesting you bring this up Clay. I have thought about possibly putting stacks in my truck sometime in the future (when I have the money). I was thinking about just building a custom tank to go around the stacks so I can use the heat from the pipes to help heat the veg. Probably wouldn't be a lot of heat, but extra can't hurt and I wouldn't lose bed space. And I'd have some sweet stacks

I thought about the same thing... but if I do that I'll never get my bed back.

Clay, I'm just curious, how much wider is your tank? About 50% more than a 60 gal? Is there a tool-box top on it?

My tank is identical to the 60 gallon with the toolbox and all...its not 50% deeper, but its several inches deeper... 33% deeper actually 30-60-90. I can't remember the demensions but if you get on Northern Tool wedpage, and look it up the demensions are listed for each tank. I think it was something like 25" from front to back. The 60 gal. tank is probably 18" deep.

You won't get any measureable heat from the stack i wouldn't think... a little maybe but you don't want to heat your whole tank in the first place.

Okay thats a different conversation...i hyjacked my own thread.

I meant 50% more than 60, which would have been 30... thus being 90 total.

My tank is 33% smaller than yours... but yours is 50% larger than mine... I dunno how to say it (obviously).

But, You answered my question. The 90 is taller than the 60, not wider.
I may have sold a buddy of mine on a kit yesterday, only he has to sell his F150 FX4 to get a diesel. I'll let him know that I have a line on a tank (if you weren't only looking to trade).

These numbers are making my head hurt...lol... yeah 50% bigger...not 33%
they are the same length side to side, same hight bottom to top biut the 90 is deeper front to back
I"ll sell also...100 less than a new one. Mine is practicaly new. and theres no chance to get a screwed up tank from RDS if you buy mine.
