  • Filter head

Can someone point me to the correct filter head for the p555823 donaldson? Preferable 3/4" in/out. Or maybe a better suggestion?

I currently pump my finished oil straight from my CF to the truck. I'd like to stick a polishing or final catch all filter after the CF. I use 3/4" hose.

I just use a cheap Goldenrod 10 micron. It's a bowl type filter, 3/4" female NPT in and out. I think I paid $25.00 for the filter head and the elements are around $5 each at Tractor Supply or any good NAPA.
      Currently dieselless!

You can also use WIX 24770 which is a filter head that uses the 1-14 thread - which will fit the Donaldson filter you folks use. You can also purchase the CAT equivalent which is 1R0749 for as little as $6.00 at truck stops across the country...

I bought a filter head from Tractor Supply for ~$25 that works with any spin-on fuel filter like the Donaldson. It has 1" in/out threads - it's pretty easy to pick up a 1" to 3/4" reducer for each end if that fits the plumbing of your system. Also, as someone else mentioned, you could purchase one of the Goldenrod filter heads with a filter for about the same price...

I just posted a thread about my filtering process - seems like a good use of getting the full life out of the Donaldson... am very interested to see if others are doing this and what their experience has been. My goal is to extend the life of the filter on the V3 as long as possible - and to eliminate condensated water in the storage tank.

Gonna bring this one back from the dead a little bit.

Muns you say that TSC filter head worked okay with the Donaldson? I almost bought one today at lunch, but was skeptical if they'd work with those filters.

I need one and probably pretty quick.

                          Thanks!
