Noticed a lot of lifted excursions here, what's the best/most affordable 6" lift for the 4x4 Excursion? And anyone found nice grills for the 00' Ex's?

I like the '05 -'07 grill myself. You can get the cut-down version on e-bay that will bolt right up. For the whole '07 look, get the 'conversion kit' from ww.powerstrokeshop.com, includes headlites, header panel, bumper, etc. (about $1300 IIRC - or after savings from not burnin' 300 gallons of diesel)
I upgraded headlites to the '03 'diamond' style and corresponding clear turn signals. HUGE improvement in lighting, dunno how I lived w/o it. The Hella 100/80 watt bulbs and upgraded headlite harness just put it over the top. (www.rallylights.com - awesome cust. service too!) When thats not enough, I flip on the aircraft landing lites. rallylights has good prices on GOOD driving and fog lites as well.

I recommend fabtech. i work at 4x4 shop in tampa and have had no problems with the any of the fabtech products. If your interested let me know and i could get you a price. I have a 8 inch fabtech on my truck. we also have grills and accessories. We also have been installing alot of HID lights with the clear headlights like jason was talking about. They are way brighter than the factory ones and give off the blue color.Last edited by stroker; 09-10-2008, 08:39 AM.

Hello, I am using a 6" skyjacker lift on mine. The price was right but not much improvement in the ride quality. If I had to go back and do it again I thing I would swap to coils in the front. Skyjacker makes one called the Z link I think. Rize also does a conversion. Much more money but better ride and steering control. Also don't cheap out like me and put blocks in the rear-Y2K Excursion 4X4 limited 7.3, 6" lift, 35" Rubbers, Jonathan Tuned, Single Shots, 38R, DI Up-Pipes, CoolingMist Vari-Cool Water/Meth Injection, Aftermarket Intake, 5 Isspro Gauges, Vegistroke V3, 30 Gal Frame Mounted Tank, GOT GREASE?

The Ex
Capt- This is Me playing around in My Wife's 01 Exc with a 4" Revtek lift, 16" wheels with 315/75-16 Wheels tires, a 2005 nose, and OF Course a freshly installed Vegistroke kit with 40gn tank. As for Lift's I highly recomend the Revtek stuff. Very high quality, good ride and affordable. I have had two of them now and also relaly like the fact that everything is black and looks pretty much OEM.1999 F-350 Lariat 7.3 385,000 miles and counting

On another note...
I am looking at getting my wife an EX and i want one lifted. Found an awsome rig already modded to the hilt for sale and my wife says she doesn't like it!
I may look into it more though...she can drive the Dually and I can drive this! Have a look at it here.
An Iron Bull bumper and fender flairs and i would be done moding this one!
Oh and of course a vegiram kit!Last edited by Clay; 09-17-2008, 07:32 AM._____________

That one should set you back some serious coin Clay, why would the wife not like it? What's not to like? By the way, I am going to be looking at and possibly purchasing an '03 Ex with the 6.0 auto 4x4, and I saw that is the same year your truck is with the 6.0. I have driven an '04 and an '05 and was fairly impressed with the ride and the power. I know what to look for on the old 7.3, but what are the pitfalls of the 6.0. Everyone seems to bad about it, but I have never personally run into anyone who has had that much trouble.

I have over a 100k on my 6.0 (early 2003 build) with no issues...well, an alternator, batteries and one ICP sensor. It still runs like a stripped ass ape on fire and i love it. Blew away a trans am in the 1/8 mile range yesturday...Jason is always razzin me to get rid of it and get a 7.3 but i just like it too much_____________
