Lots of discussion about CPS's on the various PSD forums about a year or so ago (pre CPS recall). Alot of guys tried the blue CPS for 466 engine? and results were mixed. AFAIK, a black CPS is a black CPS - no change for the service vehicles, etc.

Nah, IF there was a difference for the ambulance and other service vehicles it would be tuning. I'm pretty sure there is only one CPS for 7.3's, as timing, etc. go. What CPS did ya take out?

FWIW, my F350 had factory CPS for like 230k miles. I only changed it 'cause I got a kick out of Ford putting a part on my truck for FREE. Truthfully, it was not worth it - I spent prolly 2 hrs of my life at a stealership for a $15 part I coulda changed in 15 min. on the side of road, if req'd.

Due a search at TDS for 'blue CPS'. There were some loooong threads on the subject of CPS's...
