I am looking for software for my laptop. something to run scans and codes, check sensors, etc for the powerstroke. Not that I need it, just to help others when needed for troubleshooting. I'll post around and see what I can find.

Another one was Autotap.
You will not be dissapointed w/the AE tool. I know a couple people who use it and LOVE it. If ya figure a little crappy OBD II code reader is more than 1/4 of that, its really not a bad deal IMHO. Never heard of Autotap, but the Snap-on tool is 3 times as much as are most of the other 'good ones'. The nice thing about AE is ya only have to buy wat ya need...
I have a Scan Gauge II, its cool 'cause it will display 4 gauges at a time (anything PCM monitors from intake air temp to MAP to throttle pos) and read/clear trouble codes. NO COMPARISON to what your looking at, but really cool - especially if you can talk your buddy out of it for a song!! hehehe, I think it retails for $169 and works on all OBD II vehicles.2001 F350 XLT 4x4, dually flatbed. 6637 air filter, single-shot injectors, straight-piped, BTS tunes, 200 gal main VO tank - 180k greasy miles

Any diy peeps for our trucks should get or have access to an AE. I'm getting the AE software soon for the truck and vag-com for the tdi jetta, same type of software. Skaarew the dealer here for charging me $60 to pull my codes!2001 F-350 reg cab 4x4 w/35" tires

Most people with "tunes" can scan codes using their tine loader (SCT, etc). Plus you can squeeze another 175 HP and even more torque out of your rig. Check out the Spartan link in my sig for a good tune source.2005 F350 Harley: Heat Induction Hood, ARE Bed Cover, DashHawk, MBRP turbo back, cat delete, SCT: Tunes by Spartan, Exhaust Sound Videos HERE

I have the AE and can recomend it 100%. In my mind it is an invaluable tool if you plan to do any work on your own rig. I have had and used the AE for almost 2 years now and consider it as essential as air in the tires.1999 F-350 Lariat 7.3 385,000 miles and counting
