  • Issue with accessory delay shut-off fix

I've had a nuissance issue since I made the accessory delay shut-off fix that is posted in the TSB area. I made this change on my 06 and I now occasionally get a CEL. It's been going on for a little over a month now and I can't figure out what the secret shutdown sequence is to trigger the CEL but it only happens on about 1 out of 4 shut downs. The code is U0155 Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module. Anyone have any suggestions?

By the way, the radio now shuts down properly just like it did from the factory.

    Thanks,
    Eric

My first thought was a wiring issue. Have you double checked all your connections again?

Just a shot in the dark.

We are looking into this now. What I can tell you is that it is nothing serious. Of Course the truck we tested this on has had no issues, but this is not the first time we have heard this code after the delay fix. should have some updates in the next week or two.

OK, Thanks. I triple checked my connections and was really scratching my head because I couldn't figure out what I was missing. Looking forward to the updates.

Not sure if this will help you solve the problem or not, but I have discovered that if I alternate between manual and automatic shut downs no CEL's are thrown. But as soon as I do 2 automatic shut downs in a row, it will throw a CEL.

FWIW, I did the wire relocate and it solved the radio and door locks problem. Then, I started getting a strange code when I started the truck (not shutting down) with the switch on auto position. Now, I just start the truck with the switch in the off position and I don't get the code.

Now only if I can figure out a way to stop the stupid 1690 (exhaust backpresure) code...

That can be from the chip. Depending on how PHP writes tunes you don't need it. That thing is useless, the sensor will plug with soot and read high values.

I forgot about that, Russ. Once my custom tunes are loaded, that code goes away...

I haven't tried that method, I'll see if I can get away with the placing the switch in manual each time I start up. Unfortunately, I can't test it right now as I've got my V3 system unhooked in preparation of a cab-off head stud install.

Anybody have luck with a fix for this? Placing system in manual prior to starting did not do the trick for me. Still threw a CEL if doing consecutive auto shut downs. So I'm still stuck doing manual purge and shutdown. I'm half tempted to wire it back to the way it was and just deal with the radio staying on. At least then I could trust other people to drive my truck...
