Well, I'm hopeful. I would never wish any president ill will as what's bad for the president is bad for the nation. That's not to say I wouldn't disagree, but I'm certainly not "hoping for Obama to fail" as I've seen a lot of folks say they are. I say give him a year in office and evaluate what has been done. Nothing will be solved, but it will give some idea of how much groundwork has been laid and what its initial effects will be. As for bailouts and the like-I'm not a fan of them, but I'd rather have the U.S. government investing in U.S. companies than China simply buying them up (and if you think this isn't happening you may want to remove your head from the sand) and liquidating them. When this Powerstroke wears out I want to buy another one-not a half @$$ Chinese copy of one.

It's just insane how everyone seems to be acting like it's the resurrection of Jesus. Hell even my work allowed all of the production workers (2500+) out and had TVs setup all over the plant for them to watch it, and people were out clapping and cheering in the halls. I just don't understand it

They were probably clapping because they know that if they do get laid off, the newly elected President Obama will take care of them with a new, liberal based welfare/unemployment plan.

Why worry about job security when you know your man is going to take care of you....change baby, it's great.

I may end up eating my words, but in my opinion, the middle class working man, aw heck the entire country, is so screwed....

I hope that's what you think. There are a lot of folks rooting for the president (and the country) to fail right now simply so they can say "I told you so." Real patriotic... If McCain had been taking the oath of office today I still would have watched and still would have hoped for the best because as an American I look to my president (whoever that may be) for leadership.

Well, I'll be the first to admit, I don't care for the man or his liberal ways. He has yet to impress me regarding anything other than his ability to speak eloquently and tell anyone and everyone what they want to hear. IMO, thats a sure sign of a democrat. And, I don't necessarily consider that a good quality to possess.

But, at the same time, I don't necessarily want to have four years of absolute failure and despair either. Therefore, while I don't care for him, I wish him luck and hope he realizes it's gonna be a long, hard four years. I hope our country comes out the other side in decent shape.
