  • New bumper!

Due to unfortunate circumstances I got a new bumper and '07 grill, headlites, etc. Bumper is 3x5 tubing and 3/16 plate and kinda defeats the 'crumple zone', but I like it like that!

2000 Excursion Limited 4x4. V3, AIS intake, BTS trans & tunes - 120k VO miles

That is hardcore right there! If I had that bumper the first thing in my mind would be, "What can I run into?" Looks good. Do you have plans for a winch?

Unfortunate circumstances doesn't sound good... You OK?

I'm gonna put a winch on a hitch mount, thats why I added the reese hitch! I have a solid-axle 4Runner build in progress, the winch is for it, but I thought there may be some reason to use it on the big truck some day.

Yeah, I'm fine. Uh, nobody was in the truck when it hit the tree... The damage was cosmetic, the ranchhand bumper that was on there before took most of the damage. The grill had a crack and there was a scuff on one headlite and the header panel got replaced - making '07 parts replacement easy. Basically, I bought headlites ($155/pr) because insurance was only buying 1 - I just had the body shop order '05 - '07 header panel & grill.

Great, Now with that bumper you are going to develop an ego and start hunting harmless Prius's, Smartcars and such.

PS- Watch out for the lithium batteries in the Prius, when they go up in flames they will leave quite a scorch mark on the bumper paint:chuckles:

That Iron Bull is sweet! Best thing about this bumper is its $1200 SHIPPED! The Warn, Fab Fours, Buckstop, ARB, etc are all up to 3x as much. With heavy-wall 3x5 tubing for all the main members and its shape - this one may even be stronger!

When I got the ranchhand-style bumper I had before, a friend suggested I carry a 'Honda-car impact repair kit' - black spray paint! He suggested I touch up the bumper on the way to check on the Honda driver stupid enough to pull out in front of me. He also suggested a stencil of little car with a line thru it - so I could track how many I take out.

Can't see the pics here at work, but I'll definitely check it out at home.

I've been wanting new bumpers as well, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I really like the Fab Fours, but I don't like the price. Looks like Iron Bull has some nice stuff...

i think i got a quote or 1000 bucks for the iron bull front bumper.

On a side not, i saw a pretty bad wreck this morning on the way in to work. It had already happened when i got there but it was a head on at an intersection. It was a white 350cc with a flatbed on it and a big ass bumper - reminded me of skyskis rig - and a cheby 1/2 ton. The 350 looked untouched but the cheby looked like an accordion.

Clay, was that the base model, or did it have the guard too?
