  • Drag Race 6.0l vs 7.3l END OF DISCUSSION

Here you go boys and girls... The proof is in the pudding.

Me and Russell having some veggie burnin' fun last month at Island Dragway in the Northwest woods of NJ.

I haven't had time to edit the vid like I wanted to until now... Hope you all enjoy it.

Russell what you got to say for yourself pal.... you can't represent the die hard 7.3l crew huh?

PS- I let Russ get the jump on me since I knew I was gonna reel him in on the big end! ..Actually I left off idle and he brake boosted.

We'll have to do it again next year!

I love your disclaimer - "No diesel fuel was burned in the making of this video." Is that your Cobra?

didn't realize you were also a stang racer, what's all done to the cobra?

Also curious of the mods on both the 6.0 and 7.3s?

            cool video!

Horse- Yep that's mine. Excursion is the tow rig/ daily driver.

Five Oh.. Yeah I dont hit any of the NMRA races anymore.. I don't have a cage and well you know how it goes.

Running the whipple 2.3l blower Ford GT fuel pumps and 60lb inj. Slicks and skinnies. Race weight 3800lb with me in it.

No mods on my truck other than cat delete (homemade) and a Jon Lund tune.

not sure what russell is running other than tune? i'm sure he'll chime in.

BTW this was all in good fun!

What's your best time on the 6.0 and what mods. I consistantly run faster with my 7.3, I love spankin stangs on the track. I usually run in the mid to high 9's. I figure I'll stop building when I hit 1K HP.

Hey Guys, Thats a great video even tho I was on the loosing end. Two lifted excursion on grease is great! My 7.3 has the standard mods, air intake, chip, 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust all pipe, banks big head waste gate, and a banks transcommand for the transmission. Best time was 15.53 before lift and tires. Those 6.0 have a extra gear in the trans, so thats why I lost! Haha

                  Thanks for the video roger!

Honestly that was my first time running the truck.I'm guessing launching under boost I could get it down to 15.09's - 15.20's.

Mid 9's in the 1/4 in a 8000lb truck? Yeah that's probably good for the fastest in the world then??

Hey Russel- Keep making excuses man... haha I love it.

Sorry about that, the track here is only 1/8. The truck weighs 8500lb with fuel. The first time I took it to the track everybody said I brought my tow vehicle but forgot my race car, they got quiet after the first run.

That's what I figured but ya never know!

Now where'd all the 7.3l fanboys go?:cheers:

Hey Russel since I got my truck running on all 8 cylinders now and the turbo cleaned she runs even stronger!

High 9s in the 1/8th is really good for a dually. I remember when I first started racing my 95 Talon TSI a 9.0 was the best I could muster.

WOW, the 6.0 can't even handle 1 pass on grease without spitting injectors. Maybe you should just leave the turbo off that thing before you blow the heads off it.

tri-state area guys, when the weather gets warmer, to the track we go!
