  • Give us your system specific FAQ's

Here is everyone's chance to ask about anything you ever wanted to know about the system. Although it may seem llike it at times, I am not trying to hide anything about how the system works. So again list out your specific questions about "How it Works" or questions you had when comparing systems and I will compile a list and answer them.

If my 97 PSD has already been converted to an electric fuel system is it easier to hook up the V3?
NC State law defines biodiesel as ''any fuel or mixture of fuels derived in whole or in part from agricultural products or animal fats or wastes from these products or fats.''

3000 miles on WVO with no #2 needed, can ya help?

Is there any reason the V3 couldn't support a mutiple tank (WVO) system. With a trip to Tenn. in foreseable future I am looking to add a Secondary tank system for extended runs,in unfamilar territory.Think daisy chain, with valve controls .I don't want to mess with some design parameter, and won't pressurize.Winter is coming(snow squals yesterday),and i will have some time in the WVO heated garage.I do alot of "Hotshot" runs and can't waste time fueling on the road,I need to throw switch and forget about it.Any help on System advantages or disadvantages whould be greatly accepted, and would help me in designing future tanks and plumbing details ....................greasy
2000 7.3X V3 So much fun,so little time,Support small Oil,burn WVO,Free and greasy down the road I go!!!!!!!!!!completely self sufficient and proud of it. (Wood furnace.....X.......solar pontoon....solarsheat twins this summer.....I don't Know much.......I'm just a hillbilly with too many guns..............

greasy. You shouldn't have any problem with multiple tanks, as long as the switching valve is large enough not to cause a restriction in the fuel system.

I think that is a great idea. In my case, with a pickup, I could buy another tank and splice into the coolant and fuel lines with ball valves at the splice. I'd imagine that would be the easiest way.
Unless you're dealing with 55gal drums... at which point I'd really consider making your own bungs with a heat exchanger and pickup/return lines. That would be a very portable and efficient way of having a "transfer tank".
I'm going to think a little more about this today... at work.

I was thinking about converting the plastic 44 gallon tank in GreasyX,this would be a whole seperate heated tank going to a tee(like A two tank pick-up system with a switch),which would feed into V3.This would give me 80 gallons of WVO=roughly 1400-1700 mile range on WVO.I am going to build a diesel tank similar to the one on the wifes libby, small descreet underbody 10-15 gallon out of plate steel.I don't see any need for 44 gallons of diesel on board(4,200 miles on a half tank of diesel so far)and it would be a once every 4-6 week fillup.Any known Quirks with using stock tank for WVO aslong as it's not over-heated?.........greasy

Generally, how long does one Donaldson filter last?

Does the FASS pump have an internal regulator or is it only externally pressure regulated?

How do I check the pressure switch and the temp switch to ensure it's working properly?

My light went out, what now?

I'm sure there are many, many more I could think of...these were just off the top of my head.

If I have replaced my mechanical fuel pump with an electric one thus an electric fuel system....

Electric fuel pump would be better, the V3 is designed to work with electric pumps. I've never seen a mechanical fuel pump on a powerstroke. I thought they got rid of that with the IDI.

                          1. How do Donaldson filters stack up against Racor Aqua block filters?

                          2. Does having the Donaldson filter mounted horizontally affect performance?

                            Jason/JAmes-

Where in the V3 manifold wvo fuel circuit does the pressure sensor live?

Is it before or after the donaldson filter?

                              Wilson, it's after the filter.

That way you can determine the pressure drop across the filter, thereby knowing when it is clogged.
