    Seems like I noticed that as well. I can't recall the thread, but seems like I saw a couple posts that didn't make sense...

    I'll have to see if I can find them.

    What else have you noticed?

          One is from Kenya and the other is from Hungary...that threw up a red flag from me.

            its not letting me delete them - or ban them so i'll have to get John to look into why and he will have to ben these IPs.
            Thanks....in the future please send me a PM about these and include a link to the suspect thread...thanks.

                I think you are fighting a losing battle trying to ban specific IP addresses. I would imagine whoever is doing it is using onion routing and getting fresh IPs every time they visit.

                It may be best (if vBulletin supports it) to make a more cumbersome and painful sign up process. The more steps they have to do the less likely they will bother.

                  You are right to a point but not banning there IP just leaves one more door for them to come through.
                  There are lots of hacks that can be installed to catch these and thats what John will have to look into...the backdoor is wide open at the moment.

                    We have suspended new user registration so that we can put in place some new procedures for allowing new members.

                    This has happened before but we are not going to let it go that way again, it just destroys the fun for everyone here who is a valid member.
