  • 500+ mile trip report, and a bonus!

Made a 500+mi veggie trip to boston in the X today...and got paid mileage :-)

NOw the fun part some MASShole parking garage attendant stuck the side of my rig into a concrete pole. He brought the truck around for me and I went to get in and was like Uhhh no sir, you need to do some 'xplainin. So he went on to say I did it when I dropped it off and I proceeded to say the hell I did get your manager over here,

So after I go walking over to where the truck was parked low and behold I see the concrete has some of my truck on it still

I have them back the thing up and sure enough it matches perfect... Now we fill out some claim forms take some pics and 1.5hrs later I'm on my way home. I have to say management of this Central Parking garage were very nice... I calmed down once they got involved.

So this poor guy lost his job on the spot and I actually felt bad.

When you drive a dually, you have to learn to drive all over again. Its deceiving when it comes to clearances.

haha thanks for the offer greasy!

It was some 150lb indian guy and I watched him pack his stuff and leave so that kind of diffused my anger a little. Now if I dont get a check then I'm gonna go nuclear on that hole in the ground

taking it in for the estimate today... my bud works at the body shop and I've been waiting for a good reason to get a couple key scratches fixed up from other A-holes that hate on the X (usually Newark Airport)

So it'll look nice after it'a all done. The damage is mainly just the plastic fender trim. Although the metal took some wrinkling that you cant make out in the pic.

That sucks! I have a funny parking garage story about an attendant who was actually on top of his stuff the other day. I'm a graduate student at Rutgers University here in Jersey and my classes are in Downtown New Brunswick. Usually when I can find a parking spot on the street its barely big enough to get a Mini Cooper in let alone a Super Duty. The other alternative is to park in a lot on the other side of campus and walk 15 minutes. However, I found that there's a garage underneath the building that students can park in at night (class starts at 6:00). I've been parking there a couple of weeks and the overhead clearance is TIGHT. It's 7'-0" and with 235/75/16s, a Rough Country leveling kit up front, and cab marker lights I'm sitting at about 6'-8". Sounds like a decent amount of clearance but the first time I heard my antenna scrape the ceiling it was pretty gut wrenching So anyway, this past week there was a new guy in the booth who must have looked up when he heard me coming and got out and jumped in front of the entrance! I was wondering what in blue hell was going on so I rolled the window down. He walked up and was like "Are you nuts!? That thing won't fit in here!" I explained to him that I had parked in the garage many times and that I knew I could fit. He goes "OK man, but that's a hell of a nice truck to gamble with..." I said thanks and drove in
            Currently dieselless!

Antenna scrape is scary... especially for the people outside of the truck. lol.

Don't feel bad for the guy losing his job. He lied. His fault. If he was honest about it he may not have lost his job.

Wow...now if that just doesn't suck. I'd be upset.

I've had attendants try to park my car for me and I straight up tell them that they won't be getting my vehicle - whether it's my truck or my SS. No chance in that...you're not even touching it.

I suppose $1399 isn't too bad...especially if you're not having to pay it.
