Do they make warmer t-stats for these trucks? Admittedly, I've never looked...I guess some of the race apps might have something different.

My truck seems to run a tad warmer since I put the V3 on. Can't tell much by the stock gauge, but it does seem to use the fan a bit more since I installed the system.

Maybe it's just my imagination though....

Wanting to know same thing. Since I'll be doing a flush soon (http://www.dinofuelalternatives.com/...read.php?t=126) and probably go ahead and replace the thermostat, what thermo "best" for the V3?

I upgraded to a 203 thermostat, around (instead of through) the belt upper rad hose and billet T-stat housing from dieselsite when I changed to the red (extended life) coolant a few months back. Vehicle mileage may have gone up .1 mpg or so....

A lot of guys run the 203 even w/o running veggie.

I've never felt like changing it.

If it is anything like any other vehicle I've owned it is in the 180-190 range.

Anything below that really isn't letting the motor reach its proper operating temperature. This is my first diesel though.

                    Marv,

I've noticed the same thing with the fan coming on more. You and I are further south than most of the vegistrokers commenting here.

I wondered if I was the only one...haha. Sounds like we're experiencing the same thing though.

I could just be my imagination...anytime I work or my car/truck I always become more aware of what it's doing and continually look for something to go wrong...haha. I guess I'm just paranoid.

Truck seems to run just fine though...so it hasn't worried me. Temps here have been consistently in the low 90's so I'm sure that's having an effect on it.

What kind of temps have you guys been seeing out there?

The high today should be 83 but the rest of the week we are back in the low 90's.

Got ya...not far off from our temps now. We're usually mid-80s to low 90s pretty consitently.

The 6.0s (at least mine) thermostats are 185*F i believe. This is the water temp i see in my commander guage when hot at idle. It runs up to 188-190 at highway speeds and 195 when working it in the hot summer.

In winter i cover the radiator up and that helps alot.

Good info...that's what I needed to know. I would have suspected it was around that range.

Wonder if there are any detrimental effects to running a hotter t-stat....
