  • So is anyone on here from New Orleans/Gulf Coast?

Been keeping an eye on Gustav and wondered if anyone on here was from that area? Looks like it'll be a rough couple days for those folks - especially the ones that decided to stay.

Hope it isn't a repeat of Katrina.

Hate to see so much destruction and loss of life.

My thought are with the peoples of the Gulf coast.I lived through three scary cane seasons in fort Meyers FLA.Remember ANDREW? I'll never forget, there is nothing more frightening then not knowing if your roof is going to stay on your house,or if you will live to see tomorrow.Godspeed to everyone down there. It disgusts me to see people worry if gas is gonna go up from Gustav. It's times like this that we need to help each other if you can.Unforunately I live 2000+ miles from there. So I purpose this-Limit purchases of petro-products in the next few weeks,if everyone on here could get friends and family to do this WE could help. The gas prices rely solely on supply and demand,so lets drop demand.I understand that this is easy for us greasers to say,but I remember gas prices doubling fo two months during Andrew in FLA ,this is when we needed a break,Big oil wouldn't have that. That was a point when I started looking for answers, all I saw was GREED.So next time you here someone bit$#en about price of this or that because of Natures wrath, tell them"could be worse,U could be there".I strongly believe no greaser will be harmed by Gustav, mother Nature knows we are on her side.............grease out
2000 7.3X V3 So much fun,so little time,Support small Oil,burn WVO,Free and greasy down the road I go!!!!!!!!!!completely self sufficient and proud of it. (Wood furnace.....X.......solar pontoon....solarsheat twins this summer.....I don't Know much.......I'm just a hillbilly with too many guns..............

Should be interesting to see what gas/diesel prices do after Gustav passed through. Looks like most of the area came out okay, but I'm sure we'll still see some effects.

                Missed this one

hey all. I'm back safe and sound. House is intact. Just some damages to trees, gazebo, fences and gates. Ike is coming next weekend though, so I'm not going to be clearing the trees yet though. Drove 1000 miles on veggie and not a drop of diesel. Hmm, smells good

That's great to hear...glad everything is still standing.

Looks like Ike could definitely be coming to your area by the end of this week...if that thing stays around the same strength it is now, it could be rough!

Let me know Marv. I can tank you up if need be. When I left, I put a 275 gallon tote in the back of my truck and headed out
