  • Where did you position the heater band on the filter?

I have the heater band positioned about in the middle of the Donaldson filter. Just wondering if it would be better placed near the base or towards the top of the filter. - Patrick

Mine is inbetween the lines on the filter. Just seemed like it fit there perfectly.

Right in the middle if I recall correctly. I don't remember any lines, but I'll have to look.

        Thanks.

mine is hanging on the side of the tool box in the shop where it will stay until Nov.
But when i use it, i put it as close to the filter mount as i can. and then i cover the filter with an insulated sleeve.

OK, color me clueless. This thread is the first I have heard of a filter band heater. Is this part of the kit or do you purchase this elsewhere?

Now that you mention it, I guess I could have left it off till closer to winter. And for N. Alabama, that's a good ways off...

Clay, is the insulated sleeve something you are going to make or something you're going to buy?

Should come as part of the kit as far as I know.

Mine did anyways. If yours didn't have it, call Jason or James. I'm sure they'll get you taken care of.

I made one 2 years ago after my first winter with the V2 module. Just took and old ski coat that no longer fit and cut the sleeve out, zip tied the end i cut and the elastic band slips over the filter and holds it there nicely.
Do i need it? Probably not but i feel warmer knowing its there when its 20 degrees outside.

Sounds like a good idea actually. I don't have any old ski coats (don't buy those too often here ), but maybe I can come up with something that would serve the same purpose.

                            FastCote,

When my kit first arrived, there was no heater band included. It arrived a week or two later. I figured it must have been back ordered. How long you had your kit? - Patrick

Sorry. Guess I wasn't clear. I still have not received my kit (and the wait is killing me). I just did not remember seeing it in any instructions/literature and I thought I had read just about everything so far.
