Anyone out there have more then one alternative fuel burned in their V3 ? I'm pondering either a propane injection or hydrogen generator, maybe NOS.Which would increase MPG the most?I'm trying to build a true 30MPG 4x4 Excursion.Any input.Hey fordnut74 are you there? do you have any of these things on the test mule you and I discussed?Or that water Methanol?I'm sick of [email protected]# talkers saying "ya but it only gets 20MPG",I've tried hypermiling it but can only get 27MPG on long Highway trips(mostly downhill,I live in the mountains.) Anyone one else have the desire to raise there MPG?I know its close to Free, for now,but remember gas prices in the 80's!!.........grease out.............

I have a hydrogen generator. It gives me significantly more power at the top end, and about 20% better fuel economy at 50mph.

My next modification will be hooking up a hybrid electric motor/generator into the drive shaft. There is a company in California that sells the kits primarily for use in bus fleets, but there must be a way to pick one up.

Once I have a hybrid, I will install solar panels on the roof, and a plug in charger.

Wow! I am happy with my fuel cost dropping $4 per gallon. There is more stuff you can do? Keep us posted.

Cost is only part. If we want to truly end our dependence on foreign oil, we have to use our domestic resources as efficiently as possible.

I don't have concrete evidence but the word on the street is that Propane and VO DO NOT MIX!! Jason knows more about this subject so please feel free to hit him up for info but I just wanted to chime in on what I have been hearing. Please don't take my word for the gospel though.

Greasy- Propane used in low amounts is fine and would likely help your mileage. Problem is propane is merely another fuel you are adding to the mix, and in a relatively uncontrolled manner. And it is also hard to control the ignition of the propane. This can lead to damage quickly when used for power. Water meth on the other hand is highly diluted, and the methonal acts as a catalyst that allows the existing diesel to burn more completely, not necesaarily trying to burn on its own like propane would. And then the water helps to clean and cool the combustion chamber as well. I have had one customer using water/meth that mentioned the cooling effects were more pronounced on WVO than on diesel. About the worst you can do with water/meth is to actually have too much and put out the flame in the cylinder basically causing a miss or maybe even kill the engine(not break the engine).

                          Thanks Greasy!

Sounds like dated info though. The controllers/valves out now for propane are pretty advanced? Its nothing I going to throw on the truck when I get home, but it is probably something worth looking at. I appreciate the bump for sure.

If I read it correctly, the cooling of the combustion chamber was a result for the water/meth, and not the propane. I'm pretty sure they have the saem effect. At times propane will actually increase EGTs and combustion temps.

Obviously I have to research this much much more before I take the plunge... maybe after this kit is paid for.
