  • Not only am I brain dead but I am lazy too.

The deal is I can not remember how many gallons one of those 35 lb. cubes holds and right now I am too tired to go out there and measure.

    Any body know for sure?

Want to see How far I can really get on what I have. Tanya

Vegetable oil weighs about 8 pounds per gallon, so 4.375 gallons are in a 35 pound cubie.

Yep, that's what I use to figure how many gallons I have.

So far it's been right on the mark.

No problem! If you're lucky, you'll have more than you originally thought! Haha..

I just guesstimated at 4.5 myself. Surprised they don't print that on the label along with the weight. Hmmm....

Believe it or not I actually measured it out once at 4 gallons and 3 quarts. so 4 cubies would be roughly 19gallons.

Looks like Clay's estimate of 4.7gal/cube was pretty close then.

That'd put 4 of them right at 18.8 gallons.

yeah, seems like the weight of the oil was less that 8 lbs - gal. and it came out to 4.7 gall for 35 lbs.
But whos measuring anyway...oh, jason is...LOL

Well I decided to figure on 4 gallons per cube then I will have more than I thought and will be able to go farther than I count on. Besides all that weight in the bed of the truck is probably going to make my mileage go down.

um..you sure about that? That would mean a 35 lb cubie is 7.44 gallons.

Whoops, I meant to say 4.6 - 4.7 gallons per cubie.

Wiki - How much does vegetable oil weigh?

Here's a container site showing a cubie at 4.6 gallons.
                              http://www.containerspecialtiesinc.com/35Lbs.htm

Should be 7.61 lbs per gallon.
