  • Purchasing seperate V3 kit items. (Hose wrap, etc)

Jason, James, I was curious if you were going to offer some of the other V3 kit items seperately similar to how you sell the Donaldson filter.

I wrapped up about 85% of my lines with the supplied hose wrap, but ran short and would like to finish out the job. Any chance you'll offer items such as this seperately in the future?

I checked the site, but no dice - all I saw was the Donaldson which I plan to order some more of soon.

    Thanks!

One other question - what's the typical use for the band heater? I take it some folks use it for the 55 gallon, steel drums?

I was thinking it'd be great for warming up my collection barrels when I go collect this winter.

I use mine for the 55 gallon drums. They heat up pretty quick and don't make convection currents like the submersible heaters.

Hooter is this on your collection drums or your filtering setup?

You can use a band heater on plastic barrels right?

Marv, the hose wrap you speak of is just pipe insulation you can get at any hardware store (Lowes or Home Depot). It usually right next to all the black pipe and fittings. I ran out as well and just picked up a box there...exact same stuff.

I used 2 rolls of it for the tank to the V3, would probably use another roll if I was going to do it up to the motor. I might do that before winter.

Not sure Jack...I haven't heard of anyone trying that. I guess it primarily depends on how hot that band gets.

Awesome...thanks for the info Goon. I'll check that out this weekend.

I've got the majority of my lines wrapped, but I plan to wrap those up near the tank and probably up to the motor before the winter.

I've got a tad left on one of the rolls that came with the system, but it's not near enough to finish what I need to do.

Filtering setup. I collect using the bucket method.

I have never done this, but I see heaters for sale for the plastic barrels. They only heat up to 160F and are 750 watts.

Those temps probably wouldn't be too bad. Anything hotter could be a problem.

I don't think I'd be so concerned about it catching on fire, but deformation of the barrel could become a problem.

Since I bought my barrel heater on e-bay for $25 (poly safe), I found them at Grainger for $50 or so.

I'm gonna guess no. Besides then ytou couldn't install it untill you had all of it purchased. So just save up your money and pull the trigger.
